Computers affect our daily lives. The purpose of this course is to introduce or extend a student's knowledge of an integrated software package. Students in this course will be able to use the integrated software in their personal, academic, and career settings to help complete routine tasks more quickly and accurately, thus improving efficiency and increasing productivity.

Word Processing Basics

This unit will teach the student to create and edit documents using the basic features of the word processor.

Keyboarding Review

All students of this era are expected to be functional in using a computer. Knowing the keyboard and being able to key words accurately and quickly is a valuable skill. This unit will focus on learning and reviewing proper keyboarding techniques.

Numeric Keypad

The student will learn and become proficient in using the numeric keypad.

Spreadsheet Basics

Students will learn how a spreadsheet can be used to complete complex and repetitious calculations accurately, quickly, and easily.

Advanced Spreadsheet Operations

Students will learn techniques to modify a spreadsheet. Time-saving commands will be taught that will eliminate the need to rekey large quantities of data. They will also learn ways to use formulas to perform calculations.

Spreadsheet Charts

A chart is a graphical representation of spreadsheet data. This unit will teach the student how to create several types of charts and manipulate the spreadsheet to adjust the chart.

Advanced Word Processing Operations

This unit will build on word processing basics that the student has developed and increase knowledge and proficiency in word processing techniques.

Draw Basics

The Draw tool is a collection of drawing features that will enable the student to create graphics.

Advanced Draw Operations

This unit will develop advanced techniques using a Draw program to make an attractive design that can be used later in integrated documents.

Database Basics

A database is an electronic filing system used for storing and retrieving information. It is a new subject for most students. This unit will introduce the student to the uses of a database and develop skills in creating a database for personal use.

Strengthing Database Skills

This unit will increase the student's understanding of a database. It will give them experience in creating a database form.

Advance Database Operations

If a database becomes large, there are was to manipulate the information to help find the information desired. This unit develops the student's ability to work with databases.

Database Reports

This unit will teach a student how to design a report that will organize, summarize, and print a portion of a database.

Internet Basics

Today, many students have experience searching the Internet. This unit will extend the student's knowledge of how to search the Internet efficiently. It will also draw on a student's expertise to help others gain confidence in doing searches. The student will also practice copying and pasting information from the Internet to an integrated document.

Integration Basics

Integration refers to using more than one of the software package tool to create a document. This unit will integrate the word processor, spreadsheet, database, and draw tools to create documents.
