Textiles, Clothing, & Design
COURSE OBJECTIVE: This class focuses on the interests of the individual student. Each student identifies a goal related to the field of textiles, practices the skills necessary to accomplish that goal, and proceeds toward the completion of that goal at a satisfactory pace. Individual goals are set with the instructor's approval, and might include but not be limited to skills such as clothing construction, knitting, crocheting, fashion design, fabric dyeing, machine-quilting, applique', embroidery, crewel, latch hook, crafting, etc. Because it takes an extended length of time to practice and perfect many textile skills, students may enroll repeatedly in this course for full credit. During each subsequent semester of instruction, students would be expected to select new or more challenging aspects of textile construction for their individualized project.
